Paragliding Instructor Training

This is an intensive 6 week paragliding course aimed at those who would like to learn to paraglide and either pursue paragliding as a career or simply gain a wealth of knowledge and experience. This is an ideal gap year paragliding course. The final qualification that you will aqcuire will enable you to work as an assistant paragliding instructor within a school. It is a little bit like a Divemaster qualification in the diving world, enabling you to work with students, keeping them safe and assisting the instructor. This first level instructor licence, however, does not qualify you to teach students alone.

Each week consists of 6 flight training days, leaving you 1 day a week to relax and enjoy some of the many other mountain related sports that Verbier has to offer.

This 6 week flying course will take a complete beginner through all the stages of EP, CP and Pilot rating right through to a grade 1 paragliding instructor licence.

During this flying course students spend most of every day in the sky learning various flying manoeuvres, spot landings and eventually how to use thermal currents to fly high and far.

During the summer in Verbier the weather is fantastic and it rarely keeps us grounded. When the weather is bad, however, we make the most of completing the small paragliding theory part of the syllabus.

By the end of this course, students can expect to go home with a number of the following qualifications including:

BHPA CP licence

BHPA Pilot rating

FSVL Pilot rating

Grade 1 Instructor rating

Parachute re-pack certificate of competence

Precision landing certificate

SIV certificate

The main aim of this course is for you to gain a maximum amount of experience in this sport and to create a stepping stone for those who wish to pursue paragliding to a higher level.
